yeah, they had fun with their little friends, and i went to a bbq picnic thing with lots of crazy people (my age) i didn't know. i only took pictures of the plane ride, though. heh, i took about 200 pics, but i have narrowed it down to these twenty for your viewing pleasure.

This is a Cessna. 'Tis owned by a flying club which my dad is a part of. He was the pilot of this excursion to Oregon. In the last picture, my dad is carrying a giant 12 inch long bread knife. You can bet it wouldn't have been permitted on a commercial flight.

people!

The first five are me, obviously. the first one is in San Carlos, where the weather was just fine, and the next three are in Medford, where it was terribly hot, bright, and sunny. You can tell that I wasn't enjoying the weather by my funny squinty faces. Redbluff was even worse, though. We stopped at Medford on the way up and Redbluff on the way down to refuel. The last one is me not enjoying being 11,000 feet in the air a whole lot, since my dad just told us all to take big deep breaths to get the oxygen we needed. Those other people are my mom and dad.

smoking or non-smoking?

"the entire west is ablaze..."

It was smoggy and smokey from about the Bay Area to a bit before Corvallis, OR, especially right around Medford and Shasta when we returned on Sunday. We had to get up over 11,000 feet to get over the smoke. Since that's pretty high for an unpressurized plane, and the smoke made it seem even higher, it really wasn't fun.
